Bickering one moment, then ripping clothes off the next. Brent is definitely all male, a 6'5 'man-fortress', but he had no problem letting Hayden get her groove on and tie him down, teasing him and winding him up, making him wait for it.
Home Run is a well written, steadily paced, light hearted sports romance with just enough tension and drama to mix things up to abd it a real turning addictive read. And I loved how Hayden would let Brent be in charge, too, enjoying when he'd grab a fistful of her hair and pull, covering her with that big, brawny body, making her say who was doing it for her, doing it to her.
I really liked Hayden, but I loved Brent. Him, and only him. Nothing better than enemies becoming lovers in my book.
I wanted light angst, nothing upsetting, and I wanted a sweet, sexy romance with a big cop hero making his uptown girl fall hard for him. I really liked the pacing of the relationship which is steadily built up over a period of time and fitted with the circumstances to move the story along.
I, for one, definitely love a good-guy sports star who is reasonably humble but has a smooth sexiness to him that also shows off their big heart! I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review.
Cooper and Ainsley, who alternate points of view, have a strong instant attraction that blooms into something more between these two sweet and likeable characters. She lives in Manhattan while he lives in Queens.
Really enjoyed this whole opposites-attracting trope, too. That was a really hot scene! Tessa Bailey writes a great hero: all sexy, hot alpha-male goodness balanced with a sweet, big heart.
Brent's a blue-collar guy, a cop. So sexy and sweet, and easy and a lot of fun to read. Yes, at times, both characters have an odd moment that is a little frustrating with their actions, but overall they were fairly stable and non-stereotypical characters, Cooper especially.
Not a lot of complication in this romance. This was just good stuff waiting to happen!
The conflict isn't major, just enough to cause a bit of friction, and I really enjoyed it for that reason. I loved their verbal foreplay, how they needled each other, trading barbs, antagonizing each other, making me wait for that time they put that sexual chemistry to work and got down and Fuh.
The opinion expressed here is my own. That's a complete man, a real man, and makes for the best hero to fall in love with. The extra third point of view chapters added a fun little extra element. Opposites in many ways but they are so made for each amd. Hayden's a wealthy heiress. I also loved how they both wanted to be in control.
These two were damn good together. The sex was really hot.
A great hero, sweet and very sexy, and romance that's just as sweet and hot. Overall, if you enjoy aand sweet yet sexy sports romance, definitely give this book a read! I love those men who are macho manly-men unafraid to show their vulnerable side. She thinks he's rough around the edges, and he thinks she's a spoiled ice princess.
